I found some ways with surface=kies or surface:note=kies (1) - see for example Way: 875467562 | OpenStreetMap Way: 1194853694 | OpenStreetMap
Is it just surface=gravel? Is it plausible for it to be any other surface?
(1) this is added by StreetComplete - when user claims that no available surface matches they are asked to shortly describe it (and that is how I found them, by reviewing edits made by people using StreetComplete).
